Does your office have a Fire extinguisher? Then you really should have a Defibrillator!

14 Dec

Statistically, there is more chance of a medical emergency occuring in the workplace than the building burning down. Plus for every minute that passes without defibrillation, chances of survival decrease by 14%. Can you afford to take this risk with your employees?

What is a defibrillator?

A defibrillator is a life-saving machine that gives the heart an electric shock in some cases of cardiac arrest.

Who should have a Defibrillator?

Any place where people gather, including the workplace, surgeries, sports associations, football clubs, leisure centres, shopping centres and schools. Defibrillators can also be used in the home.

The importance of defibrillators are very much in the news at present, because of Fabrice Muamba. Fabrice, former Bolton Wanderers footballer, suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch in March. He recently launched the Hearts & Goals campaign, who aim to make life-saving equipment more accessible around the country.
