Corporate Health is a charity that has been providing Occupational Health services since 1947. Our charitable objects support training and the improvement of employee wellbeing. We are pleased to deliver another free educational seminar to HR.

Open to all you don’t have to be a customer to attend.

Bereavement has the potential to impact on performance in the workplace, with an estimated one in
ten employees affected at any point in time (McGuinness, 2009), and one study showing that 44% of
organisations experienced an increase in sick leave following bereavement (IHF, 2006). It can result in
loss of productivity and higher incidences of job-related injuries and accidents.

Whilst many organisations are compassionate towards bereaved employees, managers face
the challenge of striking a balance between a supportive workplace and accountability for job
responsibilities. An informed approach, which supports a bereaved employee with sensitivity,
understanding and flexibility, is likely to mitigate the potential for increased absence and decreased
productivity, improve staff morale and maintain positive working relationships with those affected.
The aim of this session is to provide an understanding of the potential impact of loss and grief in the
workplace, along with practical ideas to build a work environment where people can be supported to
deal effectively with issues of grief and bereavement whilst continuing to make an effective contribution
to the organisation.

The session will be facilitated by Ann Chalmers, Chief Executive of Child
Bereavement UK, a national charity with over 20 years experience in
supporting families and educating professionals.

Goodbye to ‘The Office’ made famous by Ricky Gervais

12 Feb

The Iconic Office falls

Theofficephoto

Corporate Health a charity providing Occupational Health services  has been in Slough since 1947 but not many people will know that our Head Office looks out on the building made famous as the home of David Brent (Ricky Gervais) and his team. The Office a popular TV show which covers the story of an office that faces closure when the company decides to downsize its branches. A documentary film crew follow staff and the manager Brent as they continue their daily lives.

Well now it really is reality although its not downsizing but demolition. As the bulldozers move in to rip it all down to make way for an exciting new development on Slough Estates. Good bye to this famous building which so many of us will remember.

Whilst one piece of history disappears rest assured Corporate Health a charity which has been looking after the health and wellbeing of employees (Mr Brent could learn a lot) since 1947 continues to deliver Occupational Health services to over 950 UK organisations.
