Corporate Health is holding a 3 hour Mental Health First Aid Lite introduction training taster event at our Slough based facility on 17th June (9am to 12 noon) for just £99 + VAT per person.   To register your place at this event, email nicole.martin@corporatehealth.co.uk

Research shows that anxiety, stress and depression were responsible for the most UK sick days (c. 70 million days every year) from 2001 – 2008. The cost of mentalillness to UK business is huge , with the latest figures showing a £30.3 billion loss, which equates to £1,206 per employee who has not been supported with mental health issues. Working at the heart of Occupational Health (OH), I am often struck by the amount of people who fail to fully grasp what the service can deliver. Frequent changes to legislation and increasing levels of employment-related litigation make OH a useful business tool, but a lack of understanding is hampering firms’ ability to utilise it in order to avoid HR headaches. But as much as the issue is caused by companies not appreciating what OH is here to do, I believe that just as many problems are created by organisations and individuals who fail to comprehend what it isn’t there to accomplish.
